When you upload, it would be helpful if you could also provide a description of the dataset and a codebook or key describing the format.

Introduction to Roll Call Votes in the European Parliament Data (HTML)

mep_info.xls (zipped)
This is an MSExcel file containing information about each MEP in the first four parliaments plus the first half of the fifth parliament (July 1999-December 2001), including: the MEP's ID number; the MEP's member state, EP group, and national party affiliations; and the MEP's NOMINATE coordinates on three dimensions.

vote_info.xls (zipped)
This is an MSExcel file containing information about each vote in each parliament, including: the number and date of the vote; the procedure, reading, and voting rule of the vote; the rapporteur; who called the roll-call vote; and the policy issue of the vote.

These files contain the raw roll-call voting records from each parliament, and are comma-delimited text files.

Professor John Carey has a web site with recorded vote data from 19 legislative chambers in 18 countries ( ). In addition to the data and codebook, also available on the site are some files with STATA code to produce the measures of party voting unity Carey employed in his research
